Since 2007, MCLE has provided over $85,000 in support funding to partner organizations that provide educational leadership development or conduct research in the area. In deciding what to support, MCLE considers the innovativeness, collaboration and applicability of each request.

Some of the funding was provided through grants to divisional or regional projects. There are two levels of grants:

• The Leadership Support Fund supports start-up educational leadership development that is innovative and potentially ongoing. Maximum year one award is $5000, decreasing in years two and possibly three. Year-end reports are required and a final report must be disseminated publicly.
• The Leadership Project Grant can award up to $1000 to support innovative educational leadership development that is usually a single event or one-year in length. A final financial report is required.
